Jeff Merkley opposes free trade because unionized industry is not competitive with the non-unionized industries of the world.

Through compulsory dues trade unions enslave their membership and the bloated yoke of their administration imposes a cost on industry that is little more than a protection racket. Rather than correct the problem, Merkley’s opposition to free trade seeks to insulate the business-as-usual, fat-cat union bosses that run his campaign.

Merkley’s campaign masks the sinister intentions of his bosses behind a curtain of “Creating Quality Jobs”. The fundamental falacy being that a hackneyed political puppet can create anything. The government does not create jobs, an optimistic view of what actually occurs is that the government transfers jobs. Given our government’s horrible managerial record with Social Security, Medicare, and Education, I seriously doubt that one private sector job extracted equals one public sector job.

Jeff Merkley is a disgusting pig. If you haven’t seen the video of him talking with his mouth full, smacking his lips, and wiping his hands on his pants, all while he’s stumped on a question about Russia’s recent invasion of Georgia, you need to treat yourself to it. How is it the D’s nominated this guy?

Biden goes on “Meet the Press” and first denigrates the freely elected government of Iraq (Biden insinuates that the current government is not legitimate because it has become less “popular” overtime — as if the only legitimate government is a government that is popular at all times) and, with all the grace of a stork prophesizes terrorist attacks during the upcoming Iraqi regional elections.  He even went on to laugh at himself a little, the kind of laugh you hear when someone’s a little uncomfortable with what they just said.  And he should be, what Joe Biden uttered was treasonous code to those who would kill our citizens.  The words are clear:  “Kill our sons and daughters during the upcoming regional elections and in your fullfilment of my words, I will use your attack to further denigrate the “Bush” installed government of Iraq and through Bush’s link to McCain use it to advance our mutual interest”.

Here’s the entire exchange:

MR. BROKAW: But the Iraqi government didn’t like the idea. Maliki…

SEN. BIDEN: Well, the Iraqi government–Maliki didn’t, but the rest of the government liked it.

MR. BROKAW: But he is the head of the government. It’s their country.

SEN. BIDEN: Yeah–by the way, it is their country, but he’s the head of the government, but he’s the head of the government whose popularity is very much in question, and the election itself. You had a whole lot of people–look, here’s going to be the key, Tom. They’re about to have regional elections. Let’s see how they go. Let’s see how the regional elections go. Pray God they’ll go well for the sake of all of our sons that are there.

(Awkward Pause … Biden laughs a little … Brokaw is in shock over what Biden just did … doesn’t know how to react …. )

MR. BROKAW: Let’s move on to some domestic issues.”
